Asura's Wrath from Capcom has a low-key introduction to what could be an epic game in the in the making after watching the previews and getting to know what Asura's Wrath is all about has been very titillating.
Expected to be released in North America on February 21, 2012 for PS3 and XBox 360, Asura's Wrath is about a demigod out for revenge after being betrayed by the other gods and his wife killed and daughter held captive. We are given trailer clips of the game story as to why Asura goes on a rage rampage that is out of this world. The graphics, arts and story line, so far, are strung together beautifully with characters having depths about them that is not so one dimensional. The good guys and bad guys are harder to distinguish as the story unfolds due to Asura's memory loss. However, every time Asura's is in trouble when he is fighting an enemy that has him in a corner, he goes into a flashback where he remembers what had happened to him before he was betrayed by the other gods. The game itself seems like you are reading a Japanese manga, but you can interact with this particular manga.
So what is really interesting about this game are the boss characters, they are out of this world, from giant turtle big as a dinosaur to another that is big as the whole planet. It's cool how the game is fantasy, but gives some concept of actual science where one of the giant boss character as big as the world sticks his finger to squish Asura on Earth, but as he approaches the outer Earth's atmosphere there is the idea that his finger is burning up. You can check out some of the Youtube's clips here for two trailers that gives insight to what the game will be like.
The game play itself looks like a lot of button smashing, but looks entertaining enough with how the cinematic and regular game play tie everything together to make this game a must buy, even at $59.99.
