The patent war is bad for business and consumer

Apr
18

Getting a patent to protect your intellectual property is important and anyone who wants to make use of your patent has to pay a fair price.  Please note the operative words here, fair price.   However most companies now are either trying to get a free ride or stifle innovation because they cannot make use of the patent themselves or build a business model that works.

The patent war started around two years ago in earnest as we seen more companies trying to get a free ride by suing companies that have become successful by bringing to market innovative products or services that may  make use of others' patents either completely or in some part.  Although we agreed that companies that make use of patents should be paying the patent holder, we expect it to be at a fair price, not in a way that exhort to the point of thievery.
