The Leafs have been struggling going 1-5 in their last 6 games, meanwhile the devils are 8-1-1 since the beginning of the month. Toronto was routed in Vancover losing 6-2 before returning home to the Air Canada Centre. The Devils meanwhile have been playing very well and will finish off their road trip looking to trash the Leafs before they head home to host the Canucks.
These are two teams moving in the opposite direction. Brodeur has been playing really well, while both Leaf goaltenders, Reimer and Gustaffson have left the door wide open. The Leafs are getting desperate to make the playoffs. At least that's what they'll have you beleaf. Whether the Leafs makes the playoffs or not doesn't make a difference because they wouldn't get far anyway. The level of talent out there is more than the Leafs can handle. The Leafs need a real goaltender to even consider making a good run. Right now they have two goalies that belong as a backup rather than a starting goalie. The Devils deserve credit for their hard work and team play. Brodeur has been doing his usual good work and now they sit only behind the Rangers in standings.
Tonight's game looks to be a tough affair as the Leafs will be trying very hard to win this game so that they won't get booed off the ice. However Brodeur will keep them off the scoreboard with the help of the Devils good defensive play lately. It could be a close game but New Jersey should get the edge.
Take the Devils for the win.
Good Luck, Play Responsibly, and with Discipline.
