Donny's NBA Play of the Day is the Detroit Pistons +4 over the Toronto Raptors

The Raptors had a few days off to mull over their recent loss to the laughable Charlotte Bobcats.  I wasn't surprise to see the Bobcats win as they were more desperate than the Raptors to win the game and break the streak.  Toronto before that lost to some very good teams in San Antonio, New York, and the Lakers.  The fact that Andrea Bargnani has not yet returned is proving to be detrimental to the Raptors.  In light of their prospects, the Raptors may be better to just lay down for the rest of the season and get a good draft pick, rather than trying to compete with competition that is clearly above their heads.

The Pistons which also are a losing team have been playing with some nice purpose and intensity lately.  They lost a heartbreaker to Cleveland last night by only 1 point.  The Cavs have been surprising in the sense that they aren't at the bottom of the standings.  Kyle Irving is doing a great job and deserves mentions for Rookie of the Year.  The Pistons, with Greg Monroe, Rodney Stuckey, and Ben Gordon's plays have kept them respectable lately.  Even beating Boston earlier in the week.

The Pistons although tired will want to win this game with the Raptors.  The Pistons know they have a good chance to win as well.  The Raptors being off for so long may start slow, but they will have lots of energy while the Pistons had played the night before.

Toronto is simply a fustrating team to watch because some days they look respectable and on other days their look like they haven't a clue.  If I was GM, I would get rid of the whole idea of Euro-basketball.  Euro-basketball is more about scoring and 3 pointers than defense.  When it comes down to it, defense is what creates turnovers and momentum changes.  The only thing the Raptors are good at right now is to lose their momentum when they are winning as evidenced by the Lakers and Knicks game (especially Knicks, where Lin daggered them with a 3 point shot).  I would definitely get rid of Calderon and Bargnani.  Bargnani is too weak to be a superstar.  But enough about this.

Just take the Pistons for a nice underdog win at +155.

Good Luck, Play Responsibly, and with Discipline.
