Mayor Rob Ford has shocked quite a lot of people on Thursday, May 17, 2012 as he attended the flag-raising ceremony for the Internationals Day against Homophobia and Transphobia. As Rob Ford is known to have shied away from these kinds of events in the past since taking the helm as mayor of Toronto. This is either a shrew political move or he really has a change of heart and realized that he is indeed the mayor for all of Torontonians.

I believe that the key to a successful mortgage and a contented life is based upon what we think and what we say to ourselves and others. Words are Powerful!
Being in the mortgage brokerage business for almost 40 years, I have learned a thing or two. I’ve found that positive thinking clients are at ease when dealing with mortgages and they tend to use certain words when they talk about mortgages. Below are a few of these words.

For those lovers of Starbucks' Frappuccino you will be surprised to learn that there is grounded up bugs used as a dye (food coloring) to make that favorite drink of yours.
The information comes from a Seattle-based vegan barrister at the company who is either still working there or maybe has quit since this story came out. We wonder what his boss has to say about his revelation since he shared this interesting news with us. We're assuming his identity is probably a secret for now.
However to be fair to Starbucks, although this is a little shocking coming from Starbucks, but there are a lot of grounded up bugs that we regularly consume without us even knowing. Although not bugs, but remember the famous pink slime from McDonalds exposed by Britain's celebrity chef, Jamie Oliver.

With gas price continuing to climb and price hitting about about $1.35 / litre in Toronto, we have to wonder how high it can go especially with the summer season fast approaching.
Of course, the petroleum industry will tell you that it is not price gouging and everything is all dependent on supply and demand. They will even go on to add talking points like currency fluctuations, transportation costs, instability in the middle east and on and on.

Ontario Court of Appeal on Monday has made brothels legal as it was unconstitutional and it denied sex workers the protection that they needed.
Activists, Terri-Jean Bedford, also a retired dominatrix, and former sex worker, Valerie Scott, who mounted a legal constitutional challenge to the law with lawyer, Alan Young, found victory at last.
However what is still illegal is open soliciting of customers on the street and living off the avails of prostitution, but only “in circumstances of exploitation.” Now sex workers can operate in the safety of a brothel with security and protection of bodyguards.
However we believe the Crown will no doubt be appealing this at the Supreme Court and this decision has a stay of 30 days. It will also suspend the bawdy house decision for a year giving the government time to amend the Criminal Code.

The NDP has selected its new federal leader, Thomas Mulcair, who won by 57 per cent of the vote against his closest rival Brian Topp.
Although Mr. Topp had the support of the senior party leaders, Mr. Mulcair was still able to pull away with the victory. Mr. Thomas Mulcair, 57, succeeds Jack Layton after his recent death from cancer last August and is now the official opposition leader with keys in hand to the official opposition residence at Stornoway.

Zimbabwe 'sperm hunters' picking up male travellers – sex sells?
After reading this article from The Telegraph many of you will run to the phone and call a travel agent immediately booking a trip to Zimbabwe. Because you’re a Good Samaritan, you want to help out those voodoo witches with your semen; we all do, including me.
Deep down inside each of us, our genes demanded that we procreate and as men, our desires were never satisfied. However, highly recommended that you listen to a few common senses before you depart with your life in hope of savage sex in the jungle of Africa.
